PAW’s SPRING BREAK CAMP

Come Celebrate Your Spring Break Vacation With PAW.  Performing Arts Workshops’ Spring Break Camp is the perfect place to shake off the winter blues and put some “spring” in your step.  This camp has something for everyone, from beginners to experienced campers alike, with activity themes including Musical Theater & Top Pop Choir!

It’s well known that participating in the arts has a positive effect on young minds by expanding their horizons, rounding out their academic experience and even improving test scores.  PAW’s Spring Break Camp can be just the thing to recharge your batteries as you make the final push towards the end of the school year!

THEME #1 ~ MUSICAL THEATER

Step into the spotlight! If you’ve been “bit by the acting bug” – join us for an exciting adventure in theater! Named BEST Camp and BEST Children’s Live Theater in LA Parent Magazine…PAW’s musical theater spring break camp is a creative, safe space where kids ages 5-14 can learn the craft of acting and performing.  Enjoy each day of your Spring Break in this totally fun production camp that will teach you the fundamentals of theater and give you the chance to shine on stage performing a one week adaptation of the beloved musical “BEAUTY & THE BEAST.”

This camp has something for everyone, first timers and advancing performers alike. Let your imagination run wild as you discover the joys of acting technique, improv, theater games, language arts, vocal technique, stage blocking and choreography! Here at PAW, a special emphasis is placed on the development of team work and self-esteem. At the end of the week, parents and friends of our students are invited to enjoy a special camp presentation.  Although the performance is our goal, it’s the process the students go through and the skills they take away with them that are the most important elements.

To join, all you need is a little curiosity and a love for performing!  Campers do not need to audition for a place in camp or for a part in the show. Every child will receive a role in the show based on individual aptitude and what will best suit their comfort level. PAW’s core curriculum coupled with the guidance of our teachers, fosters a “creative state” with which students are empowered to realize their personal and artistic potential. PAW musical theater teachers are specialists in their fields and have extensive experience working with children.  Additionally, our teachers have or are working towards their degree in the arts, while some are already working professionals in theater, film or television. PAW offers the ultimate arts experience, from rehearsal to performance, in a safe, nurturing and non-competitive environment.

THEME #2 ~ TOP POP CHOIR

Experience the joys of singing and discover the VOCAL ARTIST in you! Everyone knows singing is good for you, makes you happy, laugh and shine. It’s all about singing, fun, community, and friendships! Come sing the top of the billboard together in harmony! For beginners and advancing campers alike. . . TOP POP CHOIR camp is a contemporary vocal camp that every young singer can enjoy while working on singing techniques to last a lifetime! PAW’s TOP POP CHOIR is perfect for young singers (ages 8-14) who are passionate about singing and want to refine and explore their vocal ability. This cutting-edge vocal program draws on contemporary music and is ideal for all levels, because we select age-appropriate songs from their favorite artists…such as Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Ed Sheeran, Billie Eilish and More!

Campers will learn proper singing technique, vocal warm-ups, breath control, pitch, phrasing for singers, song interpretation and music appreciation. Through practice they will accomplish singing solfege, major and minor scales, and even 4-part harmonies, as well as learn to control their singing volume using vowels, phrases, and emotion to master crescendos and decrescendos…taking them to a whole new level as young singers! A noteworthy aspect of PAW’s Top Pop Choir is that campers don’t actually need to be an experienced singer to join because it’s about the collective sound you learn to create. One of the most rewarding aspects of participating is learning to share your voice and bring joy to others. Our teachers apply the latest techniques and methods which keeps vocal training engaging, fresh, and fun, while placing a special emphasis on showmanship. We have found that it’s this mixture of vocal methods and cutting-edge music that helps us shape young singers, creates a well-rounded camp experience, and guides the kids to achieve a broad range of vocal styles. Throughout the week, the kids will develop a vocal set, and enjoy the opportunity to share the spotlight as they perform it at the end of the week.

At Performing Arts Workshops, our teachers have extensive experience working with young singers. Many have earned their Masters or Bachelors in music, music education and related fields. Within our curriculum, our campers will identify their vocal range from – Soprano, Alto, Tenor to Bass, as well as learn to sing in time, blend their voices in harmony, and create songs that sound beautiful, full and colorful!  Top Pop Choir is for everyone! Get that exhilarating feeling you have when everyone is singing together! As always, with PAW you don’t need to audition to participate.

Drop-off & supervised playtime available from 8:45am to 9:00am.
Camp Hours: 9:00am to 3:00pm – Pick-up & playtime until 3:20pm.

CAMP TUITION & EXTENDED PLAY

SPRING BREAK CAMP: $495 per 1 week session
(Be sure to select your camp discount when you register!)

SUNRISE STUDENT  8:00am-8:45am
$15 per day when paid by the day as needed or it’s reduced to $10 per day when paid in advance for the full session.

EXTENDED PLAY  3:10pm-5:00pm (where available):
$25 per day when paid by the day as needed or it’s reduced to $20 per day when paid in advance for the full session.

PARTICIPATION AND CAMP ACTIVITIES

• We at Performing Arts Workshops work to provide a non-competitive, nurturing and fun environment for our campers.
• Children are enrolled in camp on a first come, first served basis. NO audition or prior experience is necessary. 
• We reserve the right to determine activities, workshops and inclusion of performance pieces for presentation at our discretion.
• Any special clothing, or dress is provided by the parents. All camp recitals are free and attended by the friends and family members of our campers.
