SCHOLARSHIP ASSISTANCE FOR AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS
PAW Steps Up to Help Parents in the Time of COVID-19
Fortunately, many after school program providers are active members of the community and are sensitive to the needs of the families they serve and are stepping up to help. For parents looking to enroll children in after school programming, but are prevented by financial hardship, relief is at hand. Performing Arts Workshops has been offering arts-based after school and summer camp programming for over 30 years. Their long-standing mission of providing quality arts-based classes and camps to children regardless of finances has been made possible through their scholarship and discount programs. One of the most noted is PAW’s Ambassador Scholarship https://performingartsworkshops.com/paw-ambassador-scholarships/ The PAW Ambassador Scholarship is a service-in-exchange for tuition program. By volunteering just 1 day (which is now just 4 hours as your schedule permits) to do outreach and networking online to further PAW’s arts education mission, parents will receive 50% off their tuition.
Cheryl Appleman, president of Performing Arts Workshops adds, “We know many of the families we serve. We know what they’re going through. When your child wants to try something new and you have to tell them, ‘no’, that really hurts. I know what that’s like No child or parent should go through that. We developed our scholarship and discount programs because I was a scholarship kid, too. My dance teacher took me under her wing and really gave me guidance and structure I needed. Scholarships made it possible. It changed my life.”
